Excellent news for Nintendo fans, Mario completists, video game historians, and casual Wii owners desperately in the need of some proper games. The Wii is getting a special edition of Super Mario All-Stars (ie. the SNES compilation of Super Mario Bros. 1 - 3, including both the Japanese and US versions of SMB2. ie. a gift from God), and yikes, does it sound a lot more special than the average special edition.

If there’s one piece of advice that’s always stuck with us, it’s ‘don’t suck someone else’s socks’. Kirby clearly didn’t heed this advice and it’s landed him in no end of trouble. The magnificent art style for Kirby’s Epic Yarn on Wii is wondrous and new, right? Well, actually, it isn’t even new to Kirby. A Japanese TV advert from 1992 clearly shows yarn-based Kirby, with similar animation and identical colour palette to advertise classic platformer Kirby’s Adventure. Look!

Since its announcement at E3, I’ve been waiting for this Goldeneye 007 remake with guarded interest. Back in the late ‘90s I probably put 200 hours into the multiplayer for the N64 original, and this game looks better every time I see it, but the disappointment over the last remake, subtitled Rogue Agent, still stings. But this most recent trailer, a look at how the developers have been working on updating it, makes me a little more positive about this game’s right to exist… …
